Mt Buller Services

Mt Buller is a wonderful Village, during winter comes to life with all the winter residents and staff that move up. Being such a busy Village requires many services, check out what is offered on the mountain below:

Resort Entry

Resort Entry Permits are required for all cars stopping in a Victorian Alpine Resort during the designated snow season which is from midday Friday 9th June until midday Sunday 1st October.

If you drive, there is free parking for team members available at the Mirimbah staff car park (vehicles without special permits are not allowed to park on the mountain). If parking in the staff car park, upon arrival you are required to register your vehicle at the Resort Entry Gate and be issued with a staff parking pass which must be displayed on your dashboard.

** Team members arriving prior to the opening of Mirimbah Resort Entry (prior to 9th June) or wish to park your vehicle prior to the opening, are required to visit the Alpine Resort Victoria (ARV) office which is also the Post Office to register the vehicle. This is by visiting the Information Desk/Post Office in Alpine Central

Post Office

Mt Buller Post Office is located in the Information Reception Desk of Alpine Central.
It is open from 8:30am – 5:00pm daily throughout the snow season and during the green season is open Mon – Fri 8:30am – 5:00pm and Sat & Sun 10am – 4pm

Transport

BSL offers a complimentary bus service to and from Mansfield for BSL team members, we have even worked with Bus Fleet to be able to offer more times for staff to get on and off the mountain. The bus timetable varies during the ski season according to demand – this can be found on the ‘Staff Bus Timetable‘ page.

Within the Village there is an ‘intra-village shuttle’ which operates throughout the day and has three routes along Stirling Road, The Avenue (Ski School) and Summit Road. Everything is also in walking distance, sometimes walking can be a faster option.

Medical Centre & Emergencies

EMERGENCY call 000. Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police are based on Mt Buller and provide 24 hour emergency assistance.
Ambulance Victoria is available for acute transfers to the hospital, that is patients who require active treatment or specialty transfers. In the event that you require hospital services you will be transported to the closest health services that has the capability to meet your needs.
(Hospital transfers are not cheap, especially from the mountain – make sure to check that Ambulance cover!)

Trauma and accident services / Mt Buller Medical Centre – Mt Buller has a first class urgent and trauma care system with our Ski Patrol team. Our highly trained and specialised Ski Patrollers attend to injuries on the ski field and transport people to the Medical Center if needed.

Ski Patrol, Medical Centre and Ambulance Victoria have plans to safely care for patients that may have COVID-19. Services will ask COVID-19 screening questions, and we ask that you answer honestly to prevent the spread.

The Medical Centre is operated by Mansfield Hospital staff with emergency care specialist doctors, nurses and medical team – the centre is even equipped with an x-ray machine.

COVID -19

The Mt Buller Medical Clinic does NOT provide a COVID-19 testing service. Visitors who develop COVID-19 symptoms should immediately self-isolate and undertake a rapid antigen test (RAT). Should the test show a positive result, the visitor should return home immediately – staff should contact your manager or Human Resources (by phone not in person!) on 5777 7864 ASAP.

GP Services – If you need to see a General Practitioner whilst you are on the mountain, we encourage you to reach out to your local GP as they may be offering telehealth consultations and can provide the best personalised care. If they are not providing telehealth consultations, you can call GP2U, Australia’s largest telehealth provider to book online. Bookings can be made on-line 7 days a week from 7am-7pm.
On Mountain GP operations are TBC for the 2023 season.

Out of Hours Support
In an emergency, call 000. Ambulance Victoria provide 24 hour emergency assistance.

Phones

Mobile coverage can be a bit patchy in the mountains, no matter which network you are with. Most major phone companies have coverage in the Alpine area.

For International team members, International SIM cards are available online or at the airport, or “pay as you go” plans and SIMs with specific companies are also available (and generally a bit cheaper with better data options than the pre-paid international ones).

Either way, we strongly recommend sorting out your phone options in the airport or city area prior to your arrival to the mountain.
